On December 2, Miss World Guyana officially appointed national finalists and regional ambassadors; Naheeryah Newland,Lieve Blanckaert, Rachel Mohabir, Diana Lopez and Zalika Samuels who will embark on their journey to the 2024 Miss World Guyana crown. Each finalist represents Guyana’s mission of Beauty With A Purpose, demonstrating their dedication to impactful causes that uplift communities. They lead successful careers, champion women’s rights, and inspire others to fulfill their potential, recognize their value, and find their place in the world. 

The appointment ceremony held at the Ramada Georgetown Princess Hotel showcased the candidates’ Beauty with a Purpose projects highlighting their dedication to social causes and community service. This Beauty with a Purpose competition encourages candidates to develop and implement projects with a plan, pitch, and execute methodology to address pressing issues within their communities, aiming for sustainable and impactful change. 

Naheeryah Newland, Miss World Essequibo Islands-West Demerara launched her Beauty with a Purpose project focusing on promoting financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Her goal is to equip Guyanese youth with the skills and mindset needed to become adaptive and innovative leaders in their communities. 

Lieve Blanckaert, Miss World Demerara-Mahaica is dedicated to promoting holistic health and wellness within Guyana. Through her project, Ms. Blanckaert will deliver educational resources, workshops, and community outreaches focused on mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. 

Rachel Mohabir, Miss World East Berbice Corentyne is an advocate for child care and protection of orphans and homeless children. She aims to build an orphanage to provide essential care, support and protection for disadvantaged minors. 

Diana Lopez, Miss World Potaro-Siparuni centers her Beauty with a Purpose project on integrating life skills training with STEM education targeting students with disabilities. Her goal is to emphasize the importance of comprehensive education that meets academic standards while also promoting essential life skills. 

Zalika Samuels, Miss World Upper Demerara-Upper Berbice is dedicated to empowering children through literacy. This initiative will establish reading programs, provide access to age-appropriate books, and create engaging literacy workshops to foster a passion for reading and improved language skills. 

The grand finale of the Miss World Guyana competition dubbed as the Festival of Majesty: Miss World Guyana Coronation Event will be held on December 8, 2024, at the Ramada Georgetown Princess Hotel. The night brings together the beauty of tradition with a deep commitment to community and positive change, embodying the heart of the Beauty with a Purpose mission.
